ESFP Case Study- Eve, the Mother of Humanity.
This group of individuals is known as “the Entertainers “. These passionate individuals are naturally confident, spectacular in action, and generally fun people to be around. It’s no wonder Adam was given Eve since she would kill the boredom in his existence. Modern-day ESFPs include Leonardo DiCaprio, Christiano Ronaldo, Camila Cabello, Marc Cuban, Sir Richard Branson, and Bill Clinton.
ESFP Breakdown.
1.] EXTROVERSION.
ESFPs enjoy being surrounded by people. What they enjoy more is influencing people’s feelings through their presence. They are great at mass manipulation of emotions and can control how people feel at will, so long as they maintain center stage.
2.)SENSING.
ESFPs use their acute observational skills when they choose to employ them. It is through this ability that they can be able to read a room and influence the room according to the feedback they receive. They enjoy aesthetically pleasing spectacles and they dress aesthetically themselves. Great-tasting foods and pleasing music excite them as well.
3.]FEELING.
They live their lives through “feels”. ESFPs are experts on feelings. So good are they in fact that they know how to evoke it in others. They value great relationships and make them feel great. They like it all the more when others make them feel great and are attracted to anything that will promise a feel-good sense, regardless of whether or not it’s temporary.
4.] PERCEIVING.
ESFPs are great at reading rooms because they are always open to receiving information all the time. They do so because they are very flexible and casual about life and do not like making plans as such. Rather, they live their lives reacting accurately to the information that they are receiving from the environment as opposed to trying to control what is going on in the environment as Judgers do. Their keen sense of perception makes them very adaptable.
POSITIVE ESFP TRAITS.
1.] Creative and Original.
ESFPs are born entertainers. For you to be one, you have to think outside the box. Constantly challenging societal norms and expectations. That is what makes one different enough worthy of any attention. Unfortunately, there was nowhere in the Bible that mentioned any bit of Eve’s originality. But it was implied that Adam had never been happier than when Eve was with him. She knew how to keep Adam entertained in the boredom that Adam experienced in the garden of Eden, even if he already had everything, he needed in it. Only the creative could come up with constant entertainment like that. Their attraction to good sights of vision, great music, and great tactile senses of pleasure makes them know just how much everyone around them is missing. This knowledge makes them bring such experiences to life, enabling others to fully experience them themselves.
2.] Great Observational Skills.
ESFPs use their eyes and intuition about people almost like a ready radar, all the time. They are very difficult to manipulate because they see and understand all that the other party wants from them. This is of course a skill they learn with experience; it is not inherent as one has to get over feeling all the time to see what is truly going on. Once horned, however, they have the potential to use this skill in control of any room to feel as they please since they are masters of emotions. Unfortunately for Eve, she never honed this ability while in the garden of Eden. She cannot be blamed for it since as only two individuals were created in the whole world, she did not need to learn it since everyone alive at the time was genuine. She could however figure out how to keep Adam happy by observing how Adam behaved. Her observational skills came in handy when nurturing Adam and their children as she always seemed to find out how her children were truly feeling by reading them through observation.
3.] Confident Social Butterflies.
ESFPs love the spotlight and even if they didn’t plan on getting it, they still draw it to themselves with their natural charisma and exuding confidence. They are spectacles to behold as they always dress aesthetically for occasions, are witty in conversation, and are naturals under the spotlight. It was never depicted in the Bible where Eve stood out as there was no crowd to spectate her. But Adam did enjoy her company enough to be influenced by her. If she hadn’t gotten Adam’s trust and admiration, it can be doubted if Adam would have listened to her enough to doubt God’s Truth. ESFPs are great at performances and the world is a huge stage for them.
4.] Great with people.
ESFPs employ their observational skills and social charisma every time they are surrounded by people. They know how to charm and receive compliments without sounding bashful, giving witty answers here and there just to keep a conversation interesting. ESFPs radiate a fresh youthful energy without even trying. It’s no wonder Adam was happy to be around Eve. She made him feel special while at the same time she ward off the loneliness that he felt in his heart. Moreover, only someone good with people can manipulate someone into doing something that they know is wrong for them, say when Adam was convinced to eat the forbidden apple. This was due to the natural talent Eve had when it came to dealing with Adam as all ESFPs have a natural talent for handling people.
5.] Live in the here and Now (Practical).
ESFPs know how to enjoy life as is. They know how to experience the now without worrying about the past or caring so much about the future. That is why they end up living such exuberant lives, it’s because they have no cares in the world when it comes to living in the now. Eve enjoyed the garden of Eden and was free to express her naturing spirit in such an environment. It was easy for her to tenderly care for the masculine in Adam and take care of the animals in the garden. Even after they were chased out into the wilderness, she still stayed by Adam as they lived day by day, raising their children Abel, Cain, and Seth. The latter is an implication as it is obvious. Had she not been a practical woman, she would not have stayed so long to raise Cain and Abel into adulthood. She would have let her feelings decide (as today’s woman operates) and would have left Adam when he was busy doing masculine things.
NEGATIVE ESFP TRAITS.
1.] Short-Sighted.
ESFPs though practical in the day-to-day things of life tend to be narrow sighted in matters concerning cause and effect. They do things without thinking of the consequences and when they receive the consequences, they get surprised as though they never saw them coming. Even if they had some kind of inkling of an idea that there was a chance that they would. Take Eve, for example, she had received direct communication from Adam telling her not to eat from the tree of life since that would make the Creator very angry. But because she could only care about receiving knowledge like that of God (an immediate consequence) and not the repercussions of God getting angry with her for disobedience ( a later consequence) she did what she was influenced to do by the serpent and disobeyed God. Their narrow vision makes some ESFPs terrible executioners of long-term plans as well as getting them into a lot of trouble when they act without thinking ahead about the repercussions.
2.] Bored easily.
ESFPs being attracted to the new and improved, have a bad habit of always seeking out new experiences and getting bored of the ordinary and the routine very easily. In a world where resources are scarce, social media is a competition and time is fleeting, this could create a serious Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and consequent depression or a sea of terrible mistakes out of the need to make life more exciting. Keeping routine jobs will make them miserable and meeting the same people won’t be as fulfilling since they will be in constant need of and seeking new stimulation. This is the weakness that the serpent preyed on in Eve. If he was as cunning as he was said to be in the Bible, he must have studied Eve for a while. Bid his time as he observed and learned more and more about Eve. He must have noticed just how bored and seemingly unhappy she must have been before planting ideas into her mind about eating from the forbidden tree. His manipulation was a seduction that worked. He made Eve realize that there was a lot in this world that she didn’t know, and she would discover if only she took a bite from the tree of life. Eve, being a sucker for new experiences and having been bored with the blissfully boring life in the garden of Eden, ended up succumbing to the temptation. Resulting in the first sin in humankind’s history… eating the apple.
3.] Averse to Conflict.
ESFPs do not enjoy anything that dims their positive, cheery light. They are averse to anything that is going to make them feel bad about themselves or others as they are highly empathetic individuals. Conflict is one of those things. They ignore, avoid or give a scapegoat for a mistake that they had made so as not to have to go through the emotional rollercoaster that is involved in solving the situation and healing for both parties. They can easily dodge all that for something more fun. Eve was the same way. When she ate the apple, the first thing she did was hide from God. When finally, she was exposed to God and was asked by God what she did, instead of being frank about it, she started blaming the serpent for the act. Trying to ward off the problem to someone else without taking accountability for it. This instigated a double punishment from God. Pain in childbearing and submission under a man with the constant conflict between both sexes as we are currently experiencing today.
4.] Poor financial planners.
When you live your life in the “feels”, it is difficult to make proper financial decisions since all your money will go where your feelings direct you. ESFPs are empaths primarily in nature. They, unfortunately, live life through feeling and unless they have partners or come from families that have the great cash flow or unlimited resources, it is going to be difficult for most of them to live a healthy financial life. Most of the money will be used in seeking fun explorative pursuits or impulse purchases in things that make them feel good for the moment. Money is not planned for long-term use and is mostly spent on making themselves or their loved ones feel great. Eve lived at a time before the concept of wealth or money and she had the whole world as a resource for both her and Adam, this trait cannot be linked to her because the money concept came after that time.
5.] Impatient.
ESFPs seek entertainment if they are not the entertainment themselves. They are excitable by nature and are bored too easily. With such a personality, it is obvious to expect impatience on the list. When they take on a project, they expect immediate results. When they get into a job they expect immediate promotions. When they get into a relationship, they expect immediate gratification. This often results in them getting too miserable too quickly when their unmanaged expectations go unmet. No action in the Bible was recorded depicting Eve possessing this trait, but it is a common trait observed in most ESPs.
BOTTOM LINE.
Remember the Gospel.
God loves us, but He is not crazy about us.
We are wallowing in our own sin for which we have no savior.
We should always repent and believe in the sacrifice of our God, Jesus Christ who was sent by God the
father to die for our sins, so we might get to have eternal life. [JOHN 3:16]
